Marcelle Chandler, 16, of 424 Elk St Albany, was arrested by the Guilderland Police department on Friday, April 15, on charges he brought a shotgun to Crossgates Mall.
Chandler was apprehended by Macys security after allegedly taking two Polo shirts and concealing them in a shopping bag. He was then found to be in possession of a loaded, sawed-off shotgun.
Chandler had the weapon concealed in his backpack and he did not make any threats towards anyone with it, police said.
Chandler was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon which is a Class D Felony as well as Petit Larceny which is a Class A Misdemeanor.
Chandler was arraigned and transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility.`
