Shaker High School graduate Kat Thomas is one of 25 nominees for the prestigious Tewaaraton Trophy, which is given annually to the top female collegiate lacrosse player in the nation.
Thomas, a junior midfielder at Duke University, is second on the team in goals with 36 through the first team’s first 15 games. Duke (13-2) is currently ranked fourth in the national coaches poll.
University at Albany senior attacker Taylor Frink is also nominated for the Tewaaraton Trophy. Frink leads the No. 7-ranked Great Danes in scoring with 52 points (26 goals, 26 assists).
The Tewaaraton Trophy will be handed out in May.`
