Businesses, nonprofits and government entities came to Clarksville Elementary School on Friday, April 15, for the school’s third Earth Fair. Though the goal is the same every year, there’s always something new and different for the kids to see, said parent and organizer Amy Price.
`It’s just great because we have a variety of local and state entities as well as private companies,` she said.
Student went through the school’s gymnasium in groups and saw exhibits from the state Department of Health, the Pine Hollow Arboretum, National Grid, the Town of Bethlehem’s Recycling Department, the Northeast Cave Conservancy, Friends of Five Rivers and many more.
The Department of Environmental Conservation sent a contingent of forest rangers, who set up shop outside the gym with their vehicles. One big hit was a station manned by the Bethlehem Public Library where students could make `seed bombs` filled with wildflower seeds to plant at home.
