What if you could get new tires without ever leaving your home? With the Clifton Park-based Anywhere Tire Care, you can.
Owner Mike Dillenbeck runs a slim tire business, only just hiring his one and only employee, but that recent addition to a previously solo service marks the young business’ growing success.
I thought it would be a good idea to have a business like this in this area because of the number of professional working people, it would be a good fit, said Dillenbeck. `And it helps that there’s no one out here doing this type of thing.`
Here’s how it works. Say you need a new set of tires or want snow tires switched out. Drivers can order the tires from anywhere and when they come in, Dillenbeck will show up at the front door to put them on.
`I come out to people’s homes, work or wherever they prefer to install new tires or seasonal tires. I can come right to their home instead of lugging them in their car,` said Dillenbeck. `It works well with internet purchasing, so those who buy tires online can ship them to me and I just bring them right to their car and put them on.`
Dillenbeck will install tires purchased anywhere but he also offers his customers the option of buying tires through his website, www.anywheretirecare.com. He offers the full gambit of brands and competitive pricing.
`The pricing is the same as most tire shops, very competitive. I just offer that much better of a service in that I’m coming to your home and it’s very convenient so you don’t waste your time,` said Dillenbeck. `I’m competitive with all the local tire shops I wanted to make sure I was competitive.`
Dillenbeck also offers a 10 percent veterans discount.
Anywhere Tire Care has actually been around since 2005, but up until recently, it was only a side gig while Dillenbeck juggled a job at Knolls. With hundreds of customers and a growth of about 30 percent a year, the doorstep tire service is now a full-time job.
`I’ve made it full-time for myself and recently started having someone helping me do office-related work so I’m working on taking the next step in the business,` said Dillenbeck. `I’ve had a great response and hundreds of customer reviews on online websites like tirerack.com.`
There’s no storefront to the business, so interested drivers should get in touch with Dillenbeck online. His weekday and Saturday office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays are by appointment only. He’s centered in Clifton Park but services all the way from Albany to Saratoga and the surrounding areas.
Dillenbeck has one truck, a step van, that looks like a Fed Ex or UPS delivery truck and the most modern equipment.
`It allows me to have a workshop but it’s mobile. I have a tire machine and balancer I use and all the modern equipment you’d see at a normal shop today. The quality of the equipment is top notch,` said Dillenbeck.
He can install anything from custom wheels on a Corvette to the average minivan. As Anywhere Tire Care continues to grow, Dillenbeck hopes to have another truck by the fall.
`I’d like to continue to grow the business, there’s a great need in this area for it and I see he potential in it,` said Dillenbeck. `I still may be shopping for investors that also see the same potential in the business.`
Dillenbeck can accept credit cards as payment with a mobile card reader on the spot. For more information about Anywhere Tire Care, visit www.anywheretirecare.com or email [email protected].
