Donald R. Henderson, 42, of Saratoga Springs was arrested March 9 and charged with DWI, fleeing police, resisting arrest and several vehicle and traffic charges, according to State Police.
On March 9, around 10:30 p.m., State Police in Mayfield observed a suspicious vehicle back out of a local business that was clearly closed for business. The 1995 GMC did not have tail lights functioning either. The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on Rte. 29 in the Town of Mayfield and although the vehicle intially pulled over to the side of the road, the operator and vehicle pulled back onto the roadway, and fled, traveling east on Rte. 29, according to police reports.
The trooper activated lights and siren and called in a pursuit and the vehicle continued onto Middle Line Road and then onto Galway Road where at this point, the trooper could confirm the license plate and then terminated the pursuit.
State Police Aviation was also in the area and was able to monitor the pursuit as well, locating the vehicle in the Village of Ballston Spa. Ballston Spa Police initiated the pursuit again, State Police joined in and the vehicle was eventually stopped at Rte 9 and Stone Break Road.
Henderson backed his vehicle into a State Police car prior to being stopped, according to police reports.`
