Saratoga Springs police say they have a person of interest and have developed new leads in the 1986 disappearance of 13-year-old Tammie McCormick, a case city police reopened last year.
Police decline to name the individual publicly so as not to jeopardize the investigation.
According to information from police, McCormick was reported missing by family members when she failed to return home from school April 29, 1986. She was last seen at her home in Geyser Crest on the morning of her disappearance.
City Police reopened the investigation last year and during the past several months have developed several new leads from new interviews.
Police said they have been in contact with McCormick’s family during the past several months regarding the status of the investigation.
Investigators are continuing to conduct interviews and follow up on leads in the case and ask anyone who may have information regarding this investigation to contact them at 584-1800 or anonymously at 584-TIPS (584-8477) or at www.saratogapolice.org.
Any inquiries regarding the Tammy McCormick disappearance should be directed to Sgt. John Catone at 584-1800 ext. 3501 or [email protected].
