Two local burglary cases might be solved in the Town of Glenville after an arrest in Fulton County yields burglary suspected for string of incidents.
Glenville police arrested David K. Porath, 44, of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, for the felony charge of two counts of burglary in the second degree with illegal entry and the misdemeanor charges of two counts of petit larceny and one count of criminal mischief with the intent to damage property on Tuesday, Nov. 23.
Glenville police also arrested Laurie I. Rusnica, 34, of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, for the felony charge of two counts of burglary in the second degree with illegal entry and the misdemeanor charge of two counts of petit larceny on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
Police in Fulton County caught Porath during a burglary in progress, said police. The local arrests stem from Glenville detectives” ongoing investigation from numerous burglaries occurring in the town.
Porath is alleged to have entered two separate residences in Glenville and stole jewelry form the property. Rusnica is alleged to be the driver during the two incidents, said police. In neighboring municipalities Porath is alleged to have stolen jewelry too, said police, and has been arrested for a string of related incidents. Police said the jewelry stolen from Glenville resident’s homes have been recovered.

Police said support from the public is needed in suburban areas of the Glenville to report any suspicious vehicles in the area. There has been a rise in daytime burglaries recently, said police. Porath is alleged to have knocked on the door of a home to ask if anybody is home and if none were he would break into the residence.
