The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce always wants to keep money in the local economy, but this holiday season it’s trying to make it a bit easier on shoppers.
The chamber will hold its first shopping expo on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post on Poplar Drive in Delmar. There, many of the big local names in retail and business will have merchandise and gift certificates for sale, as well as information for patrons.
The chamber in the past has held business expos, but they were generally for networking between businesses, not to do business. The chamber’s focus on promoting a buy local campaign brought about the idea of holding a shopping expo, though.
We’ve gotten a lot of participation and a lot of interest, said Interim Chamber President Gina Bulman. `We have a real variety and diversity in our business community and our retail community.`
Just a few of the many local businesses slated to be at the expo include Mosaics by Christine, Peaceful Inspirations, Perfect Blend, Del Lanes, Wild Sage Designs, Phillips Hardware, Dlemar Florist and many more.
There will also be massages, door prizes every half hour, several raffles and i Fill Inkjets will be on hand to fill any printer cartridge for just $5.
