Police are investigating an early-morning motor vehicle accident on New Scotland Road.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Department said that about 5:05 a.m. this morning, a 1997 pickup operated by Riley Seaburg, 18, of Feura Bush, struck a 1990 Subaru Legacy operated by Melissa Schanz, 37, of Voorheesville, near the intersection of New Scotland Road and Clipp Road in the Town of New Scotland.
The collision caused the pickup truck to roll onto its roof and Schanz’s Subaru to come to rest off the roadway in a wooded area, police said. She had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Albany Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries. Seaburg was transported to St. Peters Hospital, also with apparent minor injuries.
Police said no tickets have been issued yet, and an investigation into the crash is continuing. Speed or alcohol or not suspected to have contributed to the incident, police said.`
