Saratoga Springs police say they are investigating a rash of criminal mischief and larcenies from vehicles that occurred over the weekend in the downtown area and eastside neighborhoods.
Police said they have received reports of 11 vehicles being broken into, several of which also had items stolen from inside. Several of the crimes occurred in parking lots in the downtown area with others occurring on Lake Avenue, Fifth Avenue, White Street and Ludlow Street. Police said most of the vehicles were entered after the windows were smashed and stolen items included cash, small electronics and GPS systems.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed any of these events to contact them and for anyone who may have had their cars broken into and not yet reported the incident to do so.
The public can anonymously report information regarding these or any other crimes by contacting City Police at 584-1800 or on the police department’s Crime Tip Line at 584-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be forwarded through the department’s website, www.saratogapolice.org.
