The Shaker boys soccer team edged Ballston Spa 2-1 in Thursday’s Suburban Council North Division game.
Tim Preston scored twice in the first half for the Blue Bison (6-5-4, 11.5 points), who moved into a third-place tie with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (6-8-1, 11.5 points) by beating the second-place Scotties (7-4-4, 13 points).
Kevin Marin scored the lone goal for Ballston Spa, which fell four points behind division-leading Saratoga Springs. The Blue Streaks (11-2-2) shut out BH-BL 3-0 Thursday.`
