Peter L. Aust, president and CEO, announced that he will be leaving The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County on Dec. 3 to become the new President and CEO of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the members of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, Aust said in a statement. `This has been a most difficult decision. However, the opportunity to make a positive difference in the community I grew up in, and care deeply about, was an opportunity that I could not dismiss.`
During his tenure the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County became a recognized regional business organization with membership growing by 41 percent and new initiatives such as the Education and Business Partnership, CLICK: a regional education summit and the Executive Institute. Aust was instrumental in forging partnerships with others such as Hudson Valley Community College and the University of Albany and played an active role in the development of the Tech Valley initiative, which was successful in bringing Global Foundries to the Luther Forest Technology Campus in Malta, according to information from the Chamber.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors will begin a search for a new president and CEO.
