The Niskayuna boys cross country team won two close Suburban Council matches with Bethlehem and Colonie Tuesday.
The Silver Warriors edged Bethlehem 26-29 and defeated Colonie 27-30 behind Marshall Pagano’s individual victory. The senior ran the 5-kilometer course in a time of 16:53.67.
Bethlehem nipped Colonie 28-29 in the dual meet. Chris Collier led the Eagles with a time of 16:59.00, while Ed Brown paced the Garnet Raiders with a time of 17:13.50.
On the girls’ side, Colonie swept Niskayuna and Bethlehem in the team scores. The Garnet Raiders defeated Niskayuna 24-37 and beat Bethlehem 16-44. Bethlehem edged Niskayuna 27-32.
Niskayuna’s Leigh Ann Labate led all runners with a time of 19:57.70. Colonie’s Kaitie Schillaci was next with a time of 20:08.70, while Bethlehem’s Lindsay Cheu completed the course in a time of 20:49.80.`
