The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County announced two Candidate Forums for upcoming state and county elections, to take place during the month of October. Spotlight News’ Managing Editor William DeVoe will moderate the forums. The forums will also be taped by Spotlight News and available for general viewing online.
On Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., candidates for 44th State Senate (Hugh Farley and Susan Savage) and the 110th State Assembly (BK Keramati and James Tedisco) will participate in a forum at the Maple Avenue Middle School auditorium on Rt. 9 in Saratoga.
On Wednesday, Oct.13 at 7 p.m., candidates for the 43rd state Senate (Roy McDonald and Joanne Yepsen) and Saratoga County Family Court judge (Jennifer Jensen Bergan and Robert Rybak) will participate in a Candidate Forum at the Malta Community Center on Rt. 9, north of exit 12 in Malta.
According to guidelines established by the League, each candidate will be allowed time for an opening statement, followed by tightly-timed responses to questions from the audience. Questions must focus on the issues, and no personal attacks will be allowed.
A third forum featuring the candidates for the 109th state Assembly and County Family Court judges will take place at the end of October in Clifton Park, co-sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce of Colonie and Southern Saratoga, the League of Women Voters Albany and Saratoga County and Spotlight News.
All League candidate forums are open to members of the public. For more information, contact Ann Kril at 584-1436 or visit the League’s website www.lwvsaratoga.org.`
