Colonie families have been invited by the town to enjoy the many activities available at Harvest Fest
The Town of Colonie will be hosting its fifth annual Harvest fest on Sunday, Sept. 26 with free entertainment such as music, crafts and various activities at The Crossings in Colonie.
The popularity of Harvest Fest keeps growing. It’s always great to see a big turnout and so many people having fun together, said Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan in a released statement. `The Town’s Youth Services Department organizes Harvest Fest every year, and I thank them for once again putting together a really super event.`
The event is free to the community with activities such as wagon and pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and balloon sculptures, caricatures, a magic show, crafts, which will be presented by the Albany Pinebush Preserve and blacksmithing by the Shaker Heritage Society and Ashokan Blacksmithing.
While all the events are free, there will be a small fee to make a craft with blacksmithing
The day will also see performances from acts such as Steel Drums with Crick Diefendorf at 11:30 a.m., Real Radio at 12:30 p.m., Andy `The Music Man` Morse, who will play children’s music at 3 p.m. and Pipe Kings at 3 p.m.
There will also be food and crafts available for sale through several vendors.
Harvest Fest will begin at 12 p.m. and will end at 5 p.m.“
