A woman was arrested and charged with felony DWI after attempting to pick up her child while drunk, according to State Police reports.
Karrie L. Steves, 42, of Fort Edward, was arrested around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, after troopers in Wilton investigated a report of an intoxicated parent attempting to pick up their child from Moreau Elementary School.
A trooper who was at the school for another complaint was able to respond quickly and upon investigation, arrested Steves for felony DWI due to the circumstance that she had a prior conviction for DWI. Steves’ license was also suspended from her prior conviction, according to reports. Steves’ breathalyzer result was a BAC of .23 percent.
