Six cooling centers are being made available in the Town of Colonie for residents seeking temporary shelter from the heat.
The cooling centers are located in the Colonie Memorial Town Hall Courtroom, the Town of Colonie Public Operations Center Courtroom, The Meeting House at The Crossings, Colonie Village Hall, Menands Village Hall, and the Beltrone Living Center.
The cooling centers will remain open through Friday, July 9.
The cooling station at The Crossings will remain open until 9 p.m. each day. The other five centers are open from Noon to 4:30 p.m.
Also, free transportation to the cooling center at Beltrone Living Center can be arranged by calling 459-6064.
Colonie Memorial Town Hall is located at 534 Loudon Road, Newtonville; the Colonie Public Operations Center, 347 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham; The Crossings, 580 Albany Shaker Road, Loudonville; Colonie Village Hall, 2 Thunder Road, Albany; Menands Village Hall, 250 Broadway, Menands; and the Beltrone Living Center, Six Winners’s Circle, Albany.
In addition, the Community Room at Sheehy Manor is available for Sheehy Manor residents.
