The Niskayuna boys lacrosse team breezed into the Section II Class B semifinals with a 29-1 victory over Amsterdam Tuesday.
The top-seeded Silver Warriors (13-4) scored 11 goals before the Rugged Rams (0-17) gained possession of the ball. The score was 16-0 at the end of the first quarter and 23-0 at halftime.
Spencer Lichorat scored a season-high four goals to lead a balanced Niskayuna attack. Matt Sexton and John Farah each tallied three times and added two assists, while Brian Schlansker and Bob Horan both contributed hat tricks.
Niskayuna advances to Friday’s semifinal round where it will meet No. 4 Albany Academy. The Cadets defeated No. 5 Scotia-Glenville 10-3 in another quarterfinal game Tuesday in Albany.
Matt Rakoczy scored three times to lead Albany Academy’s offense, while goaltenders Shane Hutchins and Erick Stuckey combined to stop 15 of the 18 shots they faced.
Nick Leffler, Will Quandt and Gramm Gordon each scored a goal for the Tartans, who finished the season with a 9-5 record.
No. 3 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake downed No. 6 Troy 16-3 Tuesday to advance to Friday’s semifinal game against No. 2 Queensbury, which beat No. 7 South Glens Falls 10-1.
