New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested Barbara Simpson on Friday, May 21, after her release from Schoharie County Jail, according to officials. Simpson was arrested and in jail after she was charged with criminally negligent homicide.
After working with the Albany District Attorney’s Office and the Colonie Police Department, troopers arrested Simpson on two additional felonies; criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degree.
Simpson, of Colonie, allegedly provided hydrocodone to Ashley Dinsbury of Middleburgh, Schoharie County, on Nov. 9. Dinsbury died of an overdose at a Cobleskill hospital, leaving behind a three year-old daugher, police said.
Simpson is slated to reappear in court on Wednesday, May 26.
Troopers also arrested Andrea Robinson of Middleburgh and Grace Miller of Summit for the criminal sale of a controlled substance. Robinson and Miller, who allegedly provided Xanax to Dinsbury, were released from Schoharie County Jail after posting $1,000 bail.
