Milton resident dies in fire

A Milton man died Sunday, March 28, after being discovered in a burning home early that morning, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office.

Patrick J. Hughes, 59, of 10 North St., was discovered and treated in a bedroom at 800 Arnold St., Lot 13, in Milton early Sunday morning. He was was transported to Saratoga Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff’s office said deputies received a 911 call reporting smoke from a newspaper delivery person around 6 a.m.; it is investigating the cause of the fire.

The Sheriff’s office said it does not appear the fire was set intentionally.
