A man was thrown from his car and a woman was ticketed during a traffic accident, on Tuesday, Feb. 9, according to police.
Colonie police and emergency vehicles responded to an accident on Route 155 near Memory’s Garden.
The accident occurred near Memory’s Garden Cemetary.
Route 155, between Vly Road and Sand Creek Road, was closed on Wednesday afternoon for about 30 minutes westbound and 40 minutes eastbound after the accident, police said.
Colonie EMS and Mohawk Ambulance brought the three patients to Albany Medical Center, while only one stayed overnight.
Sgt. Robert Donnelly, a traffic officer wit the Colonie Police Department, said Ronald Wickham, 69, who was driving one of the two vehicles involved in the accident was admitted and stayed overnight, while his wife and passenger, Jean Salmon, 67, was not admitted.
Patricia Evans, 54, was driving the other vehicle and complained of some pain and discomfort from the seatbelt and airbag, but was not admitted to the hospital.
Donnelly said Evans was ticketed for failure to keep right as she swerved over the double-yellow line toward Wickham. Wickham turned out of the way, but Evans hit the middle of his car, lodging the door open and ultimately causing him to be fly from the car.

Wickham hit his head, Donnelly said.
Police are still investigating the incident, with several witnesses left to be interviewed.
