Ashley Tallman made the last two of her team-high 23 points count the most.
Tallman hit a shot in the final 10 seconds to help the Mohonasen girls basketball team pull out a 39-38 Suburban Council victory over Columbia last Friday in Rotterdam.
The Blue Devils (2-7 league, 3-8 overall) took a 13-7 lead in the first quarter before the Mighty Warriors (7-2, 8-3) tied the game at 20 in the second quarter. The lead changed hands several times in the second half, with Mohonasen getting the last shot in.
Lea McLain contributed eight points for the Mighty Warriors, who visisted Shaker Tuesday.
In other girls basketball action last Friday, Niskayuna defeated Ballston Spa 59-44 in a Suburban Council North Division game, while South Glens Falls ended Scotia-Glenville’s undefeated run through the Foothills Council with a 48-38 win.
Kiersten Gray netted 16 points, and Kim Fagan added 11 points for Niskayuna (2-7, 3-7). Geena Gallo’s 21 points paced Ballston Spa (1-8, 1-10).
Katelyn Baker’s 13 points led South Glens Falls (3-4, 5-6) in its win over Scotia-Glenville. Cassie Broadhead scored 19 points for the Lady Tartans (7-1, 9-3).
Schenectady Christian (6-1, 9-2) defeated Middleburgh 47-33 last Friday behind 20 points from Heidi Frazer.`
