Gloversville waited until the last second to pull out a 49-48 victory over Scotia-Glenville in Monday’s Foothills Council boys basketball game.
Aaron Hall hit a three-pointer at the final buzzer to cap a 24-point fourth quarter for the Dragons (3-0).
Up to the final period, Scotia-Glenville (0-1 league, 2-1 overall) had kept Gloversville’s offense in check. The Tartans limited the Dragons to single-digit point totals in each of the first three quarters as they built a 32-25 lead.
Hall finished with a team-high 16 points for Gloversville. Malcolm Mathias contributed 15 points, and Chad McCloskey added 10 points.
Terell Winney scored 16 points, and Casey Norton chipped in 13 points for Scotia-Glenville, which played its first game in 10 days. Their previous game was a 65-43 victory over Schalmont Dec. 4.
The Tartans have an active week coming up as they enter the heart of their Foothills Council season. They host Queensbury Thursday before traveling to Hudson Falls Saturday. Their week concludes next Tuesday when they host Johnstown.`
