Seven Saratoga County teenagers were arrested between Thursday, Dec. 3 and Tuesday, Dec. 8 and charged with breaking into their drug dealer’s home back in September. The drug dealer was also arrested.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, at about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 29, a neighbor of Michael B. Brown, of 94-B Traver Road in Wilton, contacted 911 to report suspicious activity at the residence. Brown contacted the Sheriff’s Office moments later to report a home invasion style burglary by teenagers who stole cash, marijuana and other items, but when Sheriff’s patrols responded to the scene there were no suspects. It was also discovered that Brown had sold marijuana to a 17-year-old male earlier that day.
After a lengthy investigation, the identities of the suspects were revealed and they were arrested and charged with Burglary in the First Degree, a class B violent felony offense. The arrested subjects were Kenyn Shattuck, 17, Randie Shattuck, 16, Amber Lester, 17, Michael Lester, 18, Andrew Williams, 18, Elliot Ruggles, 17, and Phillip Cheney, 17, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Department.
Brown was charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 2nd Degree, a class d felony offense, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation level offense, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He was remanded to Saratoga County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
