A Staten Island man attending the University at Albany was arrested by Guilderland police this morning and charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief after he allegedly broke into the Albany County Animal Hospital on Western Avenue.
Police say Jeremy T. Anderson, 20, was arrested fleeing the scene of the burglary at about 6:25 a.m. A hospital employee had contacted police after arriving to work to find a broken window and Anderson still inside the building, according to police.
Colonie police are investigating a similar burglary, and the Guilderland Police Department said that it is believed the two crimes are related and that further charges against Anderson are likely.
Anderson was arraigned and committed to the Albany County Correctional Facility.`
