Guilderland Superintendent of Schools John McGuire will be retiring at the end of the school year, he told The Spotlight Newspapers on Wednesday, Dec. 2.
It’s a big decision, he said. `I’ve been in education for 40 years.`
McGuire said he has been approached with some `flattering` offers for after his retirement and he will give them due diligence, time and consideration.
`I am honored and proud that I am capping off my administration with wonderful colleagues here in Guilderland,` McGuire said.
He noted there are great students and staff in the district and he expects them to flourish.
