The Schenectady County Daimen Center will host an AIDS memorial walk at 5 p.m. starting at the Schenectady City Hall and ending outside the GE Theater at Proctor’s Theatre on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The program will include a walk from Schenectady City Hall to the entrance of the Proctors GE Theatre, where and open-mic presentation will be held for members of the community to speak about their interactions with HIV/AIDS.
We’re very excited to host the event and we’re happy that if will become a yearly event to inform the larger community, said Director of the Schenectady Daimen Center Daniel Butterworth.
The event will also include local HIV/AIDS service providers including services from Ellis Hospital, case management providers, housing assistance and mental health services.
