The Shaker boys cross country team dominated its division at Saturday’s Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
The Blue Bison had four runners in the top 20 to pull away from the competition in the 29-team Varsity G division. Shaker finished with 68 points, 46 points ahead of Ridge High School from New Jersey.
Ryan Egan and Michael Libruk placed in the top 10 for Shaker. Egan finished sixth with a time of 13:13.12, while Libruk placed seventh with a time of 13:16.97.
Kyle Foster was 12th in a time of 13:22.48, John Vallecorsa placed 19th in a time of 13:35.25 and David Marthy finished 26th in a time of 13:43.37 for the Blue Bison.
Shaker’s girls team finished ninth out of 26 teams in the Varsity D division. The Blue Bison finished with 280 points after placing three runners in the top 50. North Rockland won the division title with 62 points, while Holy Names was the top Section II team in the field with a fifth-place finish with 141 points.
Blair Burke led Shaker with a 19th-place performance in a time of 16:06.39. Molly Nephew was 34th in a time of 16:44.51, and Zosia Dunn finished 47th in a time of 16:58.01.
Colonie’s girls team was 20th in the Varsity B division with 480 points. Moira Hilt led the Garnet Raiders with a 29th-place finish in a time of 16:41.59.
