The Ballston Spa boys soccer team scored five first-half goals on its way to a 6-1 Suburban Council victory over Saratoga Springs Tuesday.
R.J. Vandy headed the first goal home, and Jon Marra tallied a short time later to put the Scotties (9-4) ahead 2-0. Connor Preece then scored the first of his two goals off a corner kick.
Chris Nolan also tallied in the first half for Ballston Spa, which moved within 1.5 points of second-place Saratoga (9-3-1).
In other Suburban Council boys soccer action Tuesday, North Division-leading Shenen-dehowa rolled to a 4-0 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.
David Clemens had a goal and an assist to lead the Plainsmen (11-1-1). Ryan Yurchak, Matt Telesca and Dan Cherkosly also tallied.
Shenendehowa hosts Ballston Spa Thursday.`
