Bethlehem police have released the identity of a 48-year-old man who was killed in an ATV accident in Glenmont on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Police say Austin W. Jewett, of River Road in Glenmont, struck a rope used as a property gate and sustained sever head trauma after being ejected from the ATV and losing his helmet. The accident occurred on a private driveway off of Jolley Road in Glenmont at approximately 2:18 p.m., according to Bethlehem police.
Jewett was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. An investigation of the incident is continuing, said Lt. Thomas Heffernan.
