The Voorheesville Central School District will hold a special election on Tuesday, Oct. 20, to vote on the creation two separate reserve funds; one for repairs and one for land acquisitions, according to information from the district.
The district is planning a $25,000, initial deposit for a twenty year, long term land acquisition fund and up to $200,000 in a repair reserve fund if voters approve the motions.
If approved, money will be added each year on top of the $25,000 depending on the financial state of the district. As much as $200,000 for the repair fund will go in all at once, officals said.
District officials have issued a brochure to residents highlighting the details related to the funds. It states that there is no specific plot of land the district is planning on purchasing, but it is prudent to plan for the future.
