The Guilderland Central School District is planning to fill its vacant position with Emilio Genzano, one of eight applicants who applied for the position, according to information from the distrcit.
The move will not be official until the board’s next regularly scheduled meeting, when a public motion and vote can be taken on the matter.
At a special meeting held Wednesday, September 16, the Guilderland Board of Education recommended Emilio Genzano to fill a seat made vacant after the passing of long-time member John Dornbush earlier this summer. Genzano is expected to be formally appointed by the Board at its meeting on October 6, 2009 and will serve a term of approximately eight months*through May 18, 2010, according to information from the district.
Superintendent John McGuire said he is looking foward to working with the new board member.
`He’s very committed to the children,` Genzano said. `We’re glad to have him.`
