Whether new to town, a longtime resident or just passing through, town officials hope all will benefit from the upcoming Explore Charlton weekend, set for Sept. 19 and 20.
The town’s past and present will be celebrated both days at locations around town, including the newly constructed Town Hall, where an open house will be held both days from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Charlton Historical Society’s museum will also be open to visitors, as will the Ellms Family Farm, the Birsh Family Thoroughbred Farm and the Smith Brothers Farm and Orchard Bake Shop.
On Saturday, there will be an antique car and truck show at the Route 67 Country Store and CafE, located at Harmony Corners.
The weekend will be kicked off with an 18-mile bike tour starting from Ellms Farm at noon on Saturday. Visit the town’s Web site for a waiver form for the ride and more information on all of the weekend’s events at www.townofcharlton.org.
The weekend will close out with a chicken BBQ at the Harmony Corners Fire Department on Route 67 from 4 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a ham dinner at the West Charlton United Presbyterian Church from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
