The four candidates running for Colonie Town Justice will be coming up for an Independence Party primary election on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The two candidates who receive the most votes in the election will go on to represent the party in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The candidates are incumbent Republican Town Justice Andrew Sommers, Republican Norm Massry, and Democrats Fred Altman and Stanley Segal.
According to Paul Caputo, Albany County Independence Party Chairman, the party has already chosen to endorse Massry and Segal.
Caputo said the party endorsed these candidates after a very lengthy interview process. He also said the candidates had enough petition signatures to force the primary, roughly 5 percent of enrolled voters.
Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
