The Mobil gas station on the corner of Elm Avenue and Delaware Avenue may be looking to re-open, according to town officials.
Although nothing at this time has been formally submitted to the town, Bethlehem’s director of economic development and planning, Michael Morelli, said the owner of the Glenmont Mobil on Route 9W is looking to purchase and close on the property.
Workers could be seen on Thursday, Aug. 13, cleaning out the inside of the store and checking the fuel tanks outside.
Morelli said he believes the plans are to continue it as a gas station on convert the former auto shop into a convenience store. Once plans are submitted to the town the applicant would have to come before the Bethlehem Planning Board for a site plan review, according to Morelli.
Little by little we’re sprucing up that busy little intersection, Morelli told The Spotlight.
