College students interested in track management will be pleased to hear that their chance to win a $1,000 scholarship at the Saratoga Race Course’s college day has become a bit more lucrative.
The Race Track Industry Program at the University of Arizona is partnering with the New York Racing Association on Friday, Sept. 4, to offer an additional $2,000 scholarship for students accepted into the track management program at UA.
On college day, all students will receive free grandstand admission and the first 1,000 students will also receive a commemorative T-shirt.
The RTIP program was founded in 1974 and remains a unique offering. Two paths of study are offered, business and equine, and a major component of the program is internship opportunities, according to information provided by NYRA.
The University of Arizona will be on hand on Sept. 4 to provide more information about the program.
Falling on the last Friday of the meet, College Day will coincide with Party at the Park, the first of several Labor Day weekend festivities at Saratoga Race Course. `Party at the Park` will begin with a special 2:30 p.m. post time. The event will culminate in a live post-race concert by the Guthrie Brothers in the backyard.
