Saratoga Springs Supervisor Joanne Yepsen announced today that a Regional Economic Stimulus Forum will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Empire State College from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event will be free and open to the public. Congressman Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls, and representation from Gov David Paterson’s Economic Recovery Cabinet will be present to let businesses, educational and healthcare institutions, not-for-profit organization, municipalities and ordinary citizens know how New York’s $26 billion share of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is being spent, and how they can take advantage of it.
The forum will focus on how those funds will be spent within the Capital District area.
Murphy’s office played host last week to Vice President Joseph Biden, who spoke about the effects of the recovery act during a visit to Shenendehowa High School.
