The 53rd annual Glenmont Fireman’s Fair starts today (Thursday, July 16) at 6 p.m. and continues for three days until Saturday, July 18, at Selkirk Fire Company No. 2.
The community is invited to a weekend of entertainment, games, food and fun at the event that was founded in 1953 and is still housed in its original location at 301 Glenmont Road, off of Route 9W.
There will be a cook shed with everything from fried dough to buckets of steamed clams and hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as games with prizes for the kids. The event is rain or shine as all of the games are under cover and the is plenty of parking with free parking at the Town Squire parking lot next door.
There will be an inflatable bounce house and face painting on site, and of course, ice cream and snow cones. The giant flea market will take place on Saturday, 25, from 8 .a.m. until 5 p.m. at the firehouse.
The event runs from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. each night, July 16, 17 and 18, with the flea market opening up the following weekend.
