The Guilderland Republican Party is seeking signatures on behalf of former Guilderland school board member Peter Golden for the upcoming supervisor’s election, according to Ted Danz, the party’s chair. Golden is registered as no party affiliation.
Danz also added that David Fraterrigo, son of school board member Barbara Fraterrigo has its support for town board as well.
Danz said the party will begin collecting signatures for its candidates, although Fraterrigo is a member of the Conservative Party and will be collecting signatures for the Conservative party line primarily on his own. Danz said the Republican Party cannot go door-to-door with him to help him collect signatures without a special notary, since he is not registered with the party.
He is attempting to seek a primary in the party, since the Conservatives did not endorse him last month, but instead chose incumbents Paul Pastore and Patricia Slavick for Town Board. He will need at a minimum, five percent of registered Conservatives in order to primary, Danz said.
Golden, a writer, said he is flattered by the Republican committee seeking him out, and it waiting to see how the petition process goes.
Let’s let the process run its course, he said.
