The Town of Ballston Democratic Committee unanimously endorsed three candidates for the upcoming municipal elections at its Wednesday, May 27, meeting, including incumbent Town Supervisor Patti Southworth.
The committee also endorsed Jeremy Knight and Deputy Supervisor George Seymour for Town Board seats that are up for election.
Southworth defeated Harold Townley in 2007 and became the sole Democrat on the Town Board. She changed her affiliation to the Independence Party a year later, however, citing differences with the county leadership.
George Seymour was appointed to the post of deputy supervisor by Southworth. A longtime resident of Ballston, he taught in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District before becoming the K-12 science coordinator there.
Knight is a Ballston native, and his family owns and operates Knight’s Orchard. He is a bus driver for the BH-BL School District as well as president of the Saratoga County Farm Bureau. He serves of the Ballston Farmland Protections Steering Committee.
