While responding to a report of a domestic incident this morning, the Saratoga Springs Police Department encountered a cache of weapons and possible explosives at a Kirby Road apartment.
Officers responding to 14A Kirby Road secured the residence and called the New York State Bomb Squad, who removed at least one grenade from the residence. At the scene, it was not clear if the grenade contained explosive material or not. City police are now conducted a further investigation with a search warrant.
The building contained four residential apartments, two of which are occupied. The building was evacuated until state police were able to respond.
The original victim of the domestic violence call was transported to Saratoga Hospital. No weapons were displayed or used during the domestic violence call, said police.“
