Elizabeth C. Martin, 66, of Rensselaer, died Sunday night on Route 50 in Saratoga Springs after her vehicle suffered a head-on collision with a pickup truck.
The Saratoga Springs Police Department responded to the accident at 10:26 p.m., and Saratoga County Coroner John Demartino pronounced Martin dead on the scene. Three occupants of the pickup truck were evacuated by Saratoga EMS, though none of the injuries were reported as being serious.
A preliminary investigation shows that Martin’s 1998 Saturn two-door sedan was traveling south when it crossed the center line, striking the 2000 Dodge pickup head on. The accident occurred less than one mile north of the intersection of Route 50 and Northline Road.
Investigation of the accident is continuing.`
