The Town of Ballston’s Web site is getting a facelift in both looks and functionality, as a long-awaited update is set to go live on Monday, March 16.
The new site will be easier to navigate and more useful, with consolidated information, a search bar and downloadable forms. Town employees and residents alike will also benefit from a new bundle of standardized email addresses. Ballston’s new presence on the ‘Net will be at www.townofballstonny.org.
The whole idea behind the site was to make it easier for people in the town or visitors to find the information they need easily, or find who they need to contact, said Debra Drake, who designed the new Web site. `I think people are really going to like it.`
Drake is a Ballston resident, and runs Alternate Highways, a Web development and design firm.
`It was pretty exciting to have someone who was a town resident designing our Web site,` said Supervisor Patti Southworth.
The project took about 7 months, at a cost to the town of $3,400.
