The Albany Symphony Orchestra will present guitarist Eliot Fisk in a series of three concerts.
The concerts will be performed Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Canfield Casino, Saratoga; Friday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. in the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall; and on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington, Mass.
The orchestra, under the direction of David Alan Miller, will perform the world premiere of Robert Beaser’s new Guitar Concerto, written especially for Fisk. In addition, Fisk will play some of Paganini’s Caprices.
Fisk is founder and director of The Boston Guitar Fest, an annual event held inJune at the New England Conservatory. Eliot lives in Boston, Salzburg and Granada, Spain, with his wife, acclaimed guitarist Zaira Meneses, and their 6-year-old daughter, Raquel.

On Thurs- day, Feb. 26, Vanguard-Albany Symphony will host an informal gathering with Miller accompanied by guest artists and composers. Prevues are presented free of charge between noon and 1pm at the Albany Public Library, 161 Washington Ave.
Prior to Friday’s concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall a free, 30-minute talk with Miller will be held at 7:30. He will introduce people to the music, composers and artists. Classical Conversations are held in the Rensselaer County Historical Society at 57 Second St., Troy.
