Town of Colonie Supervisor Paula Mahan announced today (Wednesday, Jan. 28) a can-collecting fundraiser this weekend to replenish the nearly 7,000 used cans and bottles that were allegedly stolen Monday night from the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society.
The fundraiser is being held at the Crossings of Colonie on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During the drive, residents are encouraged to drop off any used cans, bottles or pet foods, as the materials are used to feed and pay for vaccinations of the animals housed at the humane society.
