John Silva, Town of Rotterdam board member, announced is resignation via e-mail to Town Supervisor Steven Tommasone around 3 P.M. today.
His reason for resigning is that his consulting business is progressing more rapidly than he had expected. It is causing him to travel all over the Country from California to New Jersey, leaving him with little time in the Capital Region.
I have been asked to extend at least through April in Sacramento at 10-12 days per month. I have at least a three month obligation in Kansas City at 3-4 days per month. I have a consulting assignment in New Jersey from 2/11-2/13. That appears to be the tip of the iceberg. My consulting business is progressing better then I could have imagined, unfortunately it is not compatible with serving the people of Rotterdam, said Silva via e-mail.
`This is really difficult for me. I really enjoyed working with all of you and looked forward to accomplishing great things,` said Silva.
