Officials from the North Colonie Central School District announced today (Wednesday, Sept. 10) that Loudonville Elementary School has received an award from the U.S. Department of Education based on academic excellence.
Loudonville Elementary was among 19 other schools in New York State to receive the 2008 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon award. The award honors schools in both the private and public sectors.
The school’s principal, Kerry Flynn, said, It’s recognition for the district as a whole and for the outstanding program development and curriculum support at the elementary level. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in October in Washington D.C., at which Flynn will be present to accept the award.
