Rotterdam police arrested two men on Tuesday, July 15 for carrying handguns in Rotterdam Square Mall.
Police responded to an area of the mall near Glennpeter Jewelers at about 3 p.m. in an attempt to detain a man for questioning.
Kquan P. Brockington, 23, of Schenectady, fled police when they attempted to interview him, police said.
According to police, Brockington led the uniformed officers on a brief chase. When police caught up to Brockington, he and a woman, Alexandra Pina, 19, of Schenectady, allegedly struggled with the officers.
Pina accompanied Brockington to the mall, police said.
During the struggle, police discovered Brockington was in possession of a loaded .32 caliber handgun.
A 15-year old boy who accompanied Brockington and Pina to the mall was also found to be in possession of a loaded nine-millimeter handgun, police said.
Brockington was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, along with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest.
Pina was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest and criminal impersonation.
Brockington and Pina were arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Schenectady County jail.
The 15-year old was taken into custody pending an appearance in family court. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
