When a close-knit community loses one of its own, the outpouring of support can be overwhelming. The Saturday, July 5, death of Adam Pytlovany, 25, as a result of a motorcycle accident had just that effect on the village he called home.
As friends, family and neighbors mourn the loss of Police Chief John Pytlovany’s son, they will remember a fun-loving and caring man.
Adam Pytlovany was born in Niskayuna to John and Katherine (Bates) Pytlovany of Scotia. He was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and went on to receive his welding degree and auto body degree from Albany Vocational School in Colonie. He was employed as a groundskeeper for the state Thruway Authority in Albany and was a member of the Teamster Local No. 72.
He is described by loved ones and friends as person who loved life and was known for his fierce loyalty to his friends and his immense love of family. He was an adoring father to his baby daughter, Ella, and devoted to his fiancEe, Jennifer L. Smith. He was also known for his playful and loving presence in the lives of his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Adam is survived by his fiancEe, Jennifer L. Smith of Scotia; his daughter, Ella Grace Pytlovany of Scotia; his grandfather, John Pytlovany of Scotia; his brother, Chas (Sara Gorman) Pytlovany of Schenectady; three sisters, Katherine (John) Cavaliere of Ft. Drum, Karey (James) Duxbury of Ft. Drum, and Holly (Tom Gleaves) Aldinger of Northville; and numerous nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts and cousins. He is also survived by many friends who he considered family.
Glenville police are still investigating the crash that occurred in the early morning hours of July 5 on Sunnyside Road.
