Jeffrey T. Plotzker, 19, was arrested by New York State Police out of Troop G in Loundonville, for second-degree menacing, an A-misdemeanor, after he allegedly pointed a loaded assault-type rifle at a motorist on Interstate 90.
State police have disclosed that Plotzker has residences in Delmar and North Troy.
Police said that at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, Plotzker allegedly became angry with another driver for `aggressive driving and speeding` on the interstate during the morning rush-hour commute. Plotzker caught up to the other driver several miles down I-90, according to the police report.
`At that point, Plotzker managed to drive alongside this motorist and then he pointed a loaded rifle at this motorist in an attempt to scare him,` the report stated.
The other driver then contacted the state police by cell phone, police said, and gave a description of Plotzker and of the gray 2002 two-door Toyota Solara that he was driving.
Plotzker was located several minutes later on Central Avenue and was stopped by Colonie police and taken into custody, according to the report.
Police discovered a rifle and three loaded magazine clips, which contained more than 40 rounds of ammunition, in Plotzker’s possession. He was eventually released from police custody on an appearance ticket and scheduled to appear in Albany City Police Court on the morning of June 4.
State police say they are interested in anyone who may have had a similar experience involving Plotzker, described a young white male with dark hair, or the driver of a gray 2002 Toyota Solara. People with any information are asked to contact police at 783-3211.
